เพอร์ซีย์ แจ็กสัน กับ อาถรรพ์ทะเลปีศาจ เป็นภาพยนตร์ภาคที่ 2 ต่อเนื่องจาก เพอร์ซีย์ แจ็กสัน กับสายฟ้าที่หายไป ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับการเดินทางของ เพอร์ซีย์ แจ็กสัน (โลแกน เลอร์แมน) ที่ยังคงดำเนินต่อไป พร้อม ๆ กับเพื่อนกึ่งเทพกึ่งมนุษย์ เพื่อจะเอาขนแกะทองคำที่มีพลังอำนาจวิเศษกลับไปช่วยเ หล่าครึ่งเทพและมนุษย์ทั้งหลายด้วยตัวเอง ซึ่งในการทำภารกิจให้สำเร็จ เพอร์ซี่ต้องเดินทางไปที่ดินแดนเร้นลับที่รู้จักกันใ นนาม Sea of Monsters เพื่อเอาขนแกะทองคำมาและในภาคนี้มีตัวละครเพิ่มมาอีกหนึ่ง ได้แก่ คลาริส ลา ริว ลูกสาวของเทพแห่งสงครามแอรีส และ ไทสัน ยักษ์ตาเดียว โดยเพอร์ซี่จะมาค้นพบความจริงทีหลังว่า ไทสัน คือน้องชายต่างมารดา ที่เป็นลูกของเทพเจ้าโพไซดอนกับนางไม้ และนอกจากลูก ๆ ของเหล่าเทพแล้ว ยังมีเทพเจ้ากรีกที่เราคุ้นเคยกันดีอย่าง เฮอร์เมส เทพเจ้าส่งสาส์น รวมทั้งไดโอนีซุส เทพเจ้าแห่งไวน์ปรากฏตัวขึ้นด้วยเช่นกัน!!!
