ย้อนกลับไปเมื่อปี 1989 ภาพยนตร์ “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” ได้รับการเปิดตัวด้วยแนวทางไซไฟคอมเมดี้ที่ฉีกกรอบเดิม ๆ จนกลายเป็นหนึ่งในภาพยนตร์ที่โดดเด่นที่สุดในช่วงทศวรรษ โดยบอกเล่าเรื่องราวของ Ted Theodore Logan (รับบทโดย Keanu Reeves) และ Bill S. Preston (รับบทโดย Alex Winter) สองคู่หูวัยรุ่นด้อยสติปัญญาที่หมกมุ่นกับการทำเพลงร็อก ได้ออกเดินทางย้อนเวลาไปช่วงสำคัญของประวัติศาสตร์ด้วยเครื่อง Time Machine และปกป้องจักรวาลไว้ได้ต่อมา “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey” ได้เข้าฉายในปี 1991 โดยนอกจากจะได้รับความนิยมเพิ่มขึ้นแล้วก็ยังสร้างฐานแฟน ๆ ขึ้นมาได้อย่างน่าประทับใจ
